I'll be discussing the just released compendium of the Beach Boys' performance history that I wrote with Jon Stebbins, The Beach Boys in Concert!: The Complete History of American's Band On Tour and Onstage, in a live interview with Michael Shelley on WFMU Saturday June 29th from 11-1. Either listen in on  91.1 fm in New York or at 90.1 fm in the Hudson Valley. Or you can live stream the interview by visiting wfmu.org. If you've never been to their website--go to Michael Shelley's page.  He is a big BB fan and has interviewed Jon Stebbins, Mark Dillon and others on his show in the past (you can listen to old shows in their archive dating back to the 60s).  He often plays obscure BB tracks (for instance right before he interviewed Jon about the FAQ book he played "Carl's Big Chance."  I have never heard that on the radio!!)

Fantastic! They are a wonderful bunch and I'm sure it'll be a thorough, terrific interview. Looking forward to it.

Great station!  Been listening to FMU since the early 70's. in 1983 they once played the recently discovered Smile boot, nearly in its entirety. Really looking forward to the interview, & of course, the book

Yeah they play very interesting stuff-Michael Shelley played an alternate version of Good Timin' and tracks from the Pet Sounds Sessions one day.

Good luck, Ian!  I know you'll fun with this.  Jon's got 50 special edition hardcovers sold already so you're on your way!

On another note, heard "Cool, Cool Water" yesterday on the "Deep Tracks" channel on Sirius XM. The DJ's name is Dan Near (which sounds a lot like "damn near" when he says it). He mentioned Brian, Al, and Dave going out on the road this Summer and also that Brian is in the studio working on new tracks with Jeff Beck and "other special guests".

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!
