Just to repeat so it doesn't get buried upthread: has anyone seen the extensive film that was supposedly shot during the KTSA sessions?  I found the Goin' Platinum bits to be totally fascinating, but wanted much, much more...

"I'll Always Love You" was the Barry Mann song, correct?

I saw the "Goin' Platinum" special; it was very entertaining. I found Brian to be very lucid and down right funny at times. Actually, I'll go out on a limb and say it was the most "normal" that Brian appeared during the 1976-1981 period.

I think it's a Carl original -- I didn't recognize it from anything I'd heard before. Perhaps Adam or Alan could shed more light on this song.

Bruce and I discussed it on BBB. It is the Barry Mann song.

And Bruce certainly would know!  The song originally appeared on Mann's Survivor album, released on RCA in 1975, co-produced by Mann and Bruce himself!

"Suzie" ...would have been on KTSA had Eddie agreed to relinquish his credit on it.

Erm, and to whom would credit have then been given?

I don't quite follow the band's thinking on that, given that they hardly needed the royalties, and that they covered Chuck Berry's "School Days (Ring Ring Goes the Bell)" on the same album.

How many others songs might they have similarly stolen... I mean, appropriated ... from other musicians, composers and lyricists over the years?

Well, in the case of a recent release by a member of The Beach Boys, some of the credits are, shall we say, less than entirely accurate, which might have something to do with a name being notably absent from the "thanks" section of the liners. Allegedly.  Roll Eyes

Andy Paley? Wasn't Goin Home from the Wilson-Paley Sessions, or was that a different Goin Home?

Either Paley, or A.G.Doe.

Well, given that the entire band is thanked in the liner notes to TLOS, I think we can assume it's not that record.
