I just read in Peter Ames Carlin's Catch A Wave that Brian and Michael Vosse appeared on the Lloyd Thaxton dance show to promote Good Vibrations.  According to Carlin, Brian brought a big basket of vegetables and talked about them at length.

Has anyone ever seen this footage, and does anyone know when this was shot and aired?

Wouldn't that be great to see. It's not out there and sadly probably has long been destroyed.

Unfortunately-TV companies were very short sighted.  Indeed-most local TV from the 60s is long gone. In fact, most network Variety TV is gone as well. For example: The BBs made two appearances on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1968 (the show was taped in New York till Johnny moved to LA in 1972).  I wrote to Carson Productions and was informed that they could confirm from their records that both apps happened-but that the majority of Carson footage from those years-including the two BB apps-was gone forever. Destroyed by NBC to save space or simply taped over.  The David Frost Show said that the same fate befell the groups May 71 app where Dennis sang "Lady" and they also did "Vegetables".

TV networks were notorious for this with the UK being worse then the US (though that's not saying much since the US destroyed a ton)

A good example is the original version of Jeopardy with Art Fleming. 2.573 episodes were made but maybe 20 at most are still around.

At least we have the audio track for the performance of "vegetables":

Cool performance, sad that the images are gone...

I love that you made that joke.  LOL

Unfortunately the 60's and the 70's were a time of achival purgings where a lot of really cool things were lost.
