I recently heard an odd Beach Boys recording called Why Didn't I Tell You. Has anybody heard this? It's basically the melody of Goin' On, but it has these really weird, fast drum breaks that don't really have anything to do with the rest of the song. Does anybody have any info on when it was recorded, or why it has those drum breaks?

Recorded during the KTSA sessions. According to Bruce, when I asked him. the drum break is there because Brian wanted it there.  Smiley

I guess it kind of works at the intro, but it sounds really awkward coming totally out of the blue during the song.

I never heard that. Is it on a bootleg?

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.
