What year was the Beach Boys tour sponsored by Chevrolet? I want to know because the first Beach Boys show I went to was part of this tour. (I was under 10 years old, so I don't remember it all that well.)

I believe it was '83. Mike wears a cap with Chevy's sign on it during the meeting with Reagan at the white house

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Ahh... The Heartbeat of America. That was it. Thanks! I now know that my first Beach Boys concert was Sept. 4, 1988. I was thinking it was pre-Kokomo, but maybe it was just before Kokomo became a big deal.

According to the setlist archive, they were playing This Whole World around that time... That was probably awesome.

I saw them in Canandaigua, NY. They played there in both 87 and 88, so now I'm not sure which was my first... I remember exactly 4 things about the concert: 1) I had a good time. 2) Before they played Runaway, they (Mike and/or Al) told a really long story involving Del Shannon and Germany, I think. 3) There was a program, which I read just about everyday for the next 4 months straight. 4) The vocals on the first 2 or 3 songs were inaudible.
