I just thought I'd give you guys a heads up and along with Big Beat 1963, I'm assuming we'll be seeing more of these types of releases

Was released and discussed here last year, sorry. Smiley

The strict legality of this release is questionable. Certainly Capitol knew nothing about it.

Apologies-I wonder if it was released under a different name as mine is copyrighted 2013 and released on Red Moon Recordings

I assumed it was legally questionable, which is why I was surprised finding it in HMV!

My apologies - I think I'm getting mixed up with another reissue of said album... but this configuration has been discussed here.

Red Moon?

I have this set but on the Rock Melon label ⓒ & ⓟ 2013.

And aye Disc 2 is SOT Vol 1, less one track.

Very dubious!

John-you're right. Think I still have some mulled wine in the system!
I listened to Disc 1 last night and will give Disc 2 a spin tomorrow-I'm assuming there's no difference in quality to the SOT disc

Whether it's dubious or not, I don't mind... If I can play it and listen to it, I'm happy. Have ordered a copy already. SOT Surfin' Safari is one of the few I'm missing so am looking forward to this...

Dubious but not any more so than the plethora of Surfin' Safari CDs and vinyl which were released on various labels last year!  I believe they are legit because of the 50 year rule but I'm not sure how that works!
