Let's just hope it isn't released on September 11th like the last one was. Poor Bob, what a hex that must have been for him.

Anything with a 666 in it is good fun for me.

Don't read TOO much into that. Religion is overrated.

I know, but there's a lot of people in this world who don't agree with you.  And they're angry!

Just remember -- you don't see any Christians burning state flags or embassies anywhere.  My peers may be intolerant at times but (except for some clinic bombing loonies) not destructive.

Well, er, I think we'll steer clear of religion.  Sorry about that.  It can be a bit of an inflammatory discussion to say the least.  So what's your politics, Jeff?   Smiley

S'OK.  That's a touchy topic right now for me because of those events.  This obviously isn't the place to discuss that issue.  It would just be nice if the media were consistent in its definition of "respect for religion", that's all.

Jeff, I appreciate and respect your comments, but I am not trashing religion. People have their beliefs, that's their business, not mine.

Let's get the thread back on topic. I wonder if this album will be as good as Desire was. Maybe we're asking too much of Mr. Dylan?

He can deliver more than we can possibly ask for. I never asked for one of the 5 best albums he ever made, but I got that last time nonetheless.

Love And Theft is the only Dylan album I haven't owned at one time or another, and it's not for the quality of the music. The fact that it was released on September 11, 2001 just reads bad luck and omen to me.

I have listened to the album, however. It's one of the best he's ever done. I'm just never going to buy it.

Does the release date 899999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 (sorry, one of my cats just added that and I'm sure If there is another cat out there it's probably a cat-Dylan thing only they can read)

anyway, does the release date matter that much? Do you know when Time Out of Mind was released? Could have been a bad day for somebody?

It's too good an album to not get on that basis - in fact, it gives you something to thank 9/11 for. I'm sure there were babies born that day who give their parents a lot of joy as well.

Your loss though....

Well, here's the thing. I've listened to the album (several times) on Real Networks' Rhapsody. The service is $10 a month for unlimited listening. I can listen to the album whenever, but I won't burn a copy. I'm very superstitious and I don't want it around me. You can disagree all you want but all I'm asking is that my wishes be respected.

You know.....thinking about it now, Brian Wilson thought Smile had occult messages. But I still listened to that and bought it. I'm such a hypocrite.
