Carl Wilson passed away on this date in 1998.

You and your voice will never be replaced.

Listening to God Only Knows right now.

I had a dream a couple weeks ago that I met Carl in my church, no joke. It felt strange, but I wish it happened. And I'm one to forget dreams and who was in them, it was really special.

RIP man we miss you.

Eight years.  Wow.  Seems not long ago I was on the web sharing feelings of loss with friends.

Carl --

As long as there are those who derive joy, solace, and comfort from the music of the Beach Boys -- in other words, forever -- you will be remembered.  You have a place in all our hearts.  Here's hoping you are having a happy journey on that "long promised road."

On the day Carl Wilson left this earth, the musical world lost a treasure. What a voice!  He is dearly missed!

The world is a musically a sadder place without your voice, Carl.  R.I.P.

Carl Wilson -- a very dear voice and person, who is very much missed hereabouts.

Where was I?

I was online goofing off and reading the message boards (there were jusat 2 BB boards in '98) and I remember distinctly, it was Billy Hinsche posting on "the white board". I remember then passing the message onto the Pet Sounds mailing list.

It was sad, shocking, and a total blow. I learned so much about singing just from listening to Carl.  And the band went to hell and a handbasket when he died. That, unfortunately, is fact.

And I'm pissed off that I never saw him in concert.  Seriously.
