I uploaded my unfinished recreation of the "Remember The Zoo?" album onto YouTube... enjoy!

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7VKTcNWbfg
01) In The Back Of My Mind
02) Let Him Run Wild
03) Summer Means New Love - I have no idea why this ended up so bloody loud.

Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ag1NeEL7nyI
04) The Little Girl I Once Knew
05) Trombone Dixie
06) In My Childhood

Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9a1ppAru2B4
07) Pet Sounds
08) I'm Waiting For The Day

Part 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jj2dHt7jgZ8
09) I'm In Great Shape
10) Teeter-Totter Love
11) Tones

You'll note that the title track mentioned in the article is missing... the simple fact is, it just plain doesn't exist.  The Beach Boys, nor anyone else apparently, recorded a 'Tomorrow Never Knows'-esque song called "Remember The Zoo".

I know the album sounds a bit odd because it's compiled from different sources, but this is the closest I could get to the article, honest. :-)

Are we back to believing that this was a real album, or just having some fun?

Okay, so I'm a big doo-wop fan.  After hearing teeter-totter love for the first time, all I can say is that I REALLY want to hear the Beach Boys version!

I don't see why this album has any place in Beach Boys history. It's just some random person lying to us. Why should this be perpetuated. I don't even get why AGD has it on his site. It's just some nobody's lies.

Though it would be cool to hear the BB's version of Teeter Totter Love. Who sings lead on it? Sounds like it would be perfect for Dennis.

I donīt think itīs the same "Teeter Totter Love" that is heard on YouTube.

The Marcelsī song is written by Durham, Flansburg & Latkovich. And then thereīs a "TTL" written by Brian Wilson (and maybe lyrics by J. Dailey). And are you sure a Beach Boys version exists? I only know of the Jasper Dailey version produced by Brian in January 1967.

It's there for the same reason Landlocked is - when some well-meaning newbie has a small orgasm thinking about what a cool album it might have been I just point them at that part of my site, explaining that there never was any such album.

The only BW-produced version of "TTL" is an acetate by Jasper Dailey, recorded at Western, 1/25/67. To say Jasper couldn't carry a tune in a bucket would be somewhat understating the sheer awfulness of this vocal. Makes Jack Rieley sound like Carl in comparison.

sounds like a job for "Adam Marsland's Chaos Band"
take another lost BW track and make it happen.....  Adam unlike Jasper... can sing

Again, this is just what I read on the youtube page. But I wouldn't've thought that if someone weren't perpetuating this myth.

Really?  I was under the impression that the Beach Boys/Jasper Dailey version was most certainly a cover of the Marcels' "Teeter Totter Love"...  (Incidentally, the Marcels' seems to be the ONLY version out there... sorry I couldn't substitute something a little more Beach Boys-ish!)  I mean, what are the chances of two songs having the same unlikely title??

I'm just sorry I couldn't offer a replacement for "Remember The Zoo", the nonexistent title track... I hate to say that I don't have the talent to fake a Beach Boys song resembling "Tomorrow Never Knows" with animal noises!  Cheesy

Thankfully, no. Count your blessings. Grin

I've sat through worse... case in point:

* Favorite Beach Boys song: "Battle Hymn of the Republic"
* Favorite rock album: "The Beat Goes On" by Vanilla Fudge
* Favorite movies: "Grease 2" and "Shock Treatment" (yes, the Rocky Horror sequel that, like, 12 people actually enjoy)
* Favorite era of Saturday Night Live: 1980-81
* Favorite Pink Floyd album: "Atom Heart Mother"

Get the picture yet? :-P

Crud - Brother Records ordered the videos removed.  (Pretty good for a non-existent album that's not entirely the Beach Boys!)

Oh well...
