It's the title of a Beach Boys boot. I don't have it so I honestly can't tell you much else.

The Beach Boys Get The Boot is a wonderful treasure trove of unreleased material, a goodly portion of which had never been booted at the time of its appearance in 2004. Came out around the same time as another Smile bootleg, Secret Smile.

Hard to find? It was a bootleg that so shook up the powers that be that the distributor was issued a cease and desist. Shouldn't this be in the General On Topic Discussions forum?

Why are the Beach Boys the most boot-paranoid of bands?  They even have managed to get the torrent sites to not host any of their stuff (including Brian Wilson solo).  The Stones allow trading and treeing on Shidobee.com and are on torrent sites, you can find Beatles and McCartney stuff at least on torrent sites (and until recently, links to download sites were being posted on McCartney's official site).  The Dead's position is well-known.  Who do the Boys think they are, anyways?  Roll Eyes

Only EasyTree removed all Beach Boys and related torrents. The other torrent sites still host them. EasyTree was the most popular, until it was hit with a potential lawsuit and forced into remission for a while (it has since come back as Dimeadozen.org).

The reason EasyTree removed all bit torrents featuring the Beach Boys or solo acts was because a certain "Honored Guest" went on there, said a bunch of things, and boom! They were all gone. Pfffft.

Maybe the Beach Boys should keep a closer watch on their archives.

Why are the Beach Boys the most boot-paranoid of bands?
Possibly because they have the most unreleased/unbooted material of any existing band? Just a theory.

3. Battle Hymn of the Republic - Recorded at Jim Guercio's Caribou Ranch, 1974
6. Why Do Fools Fall In Love - California Music 45, co-produced by Brian, 5/'75
8. Running Bear - '15 Big One's outtake, 1976

29. Kokomo - David Marks recording, 2003

I heard this at a friends house a while back.
The establishment probably got pi$$ed because disc #2 is almost entirely embarassing. I'd be miffed if someone booted my absolute worst material! I get loose stools just thinking about disc #2.

Perhaps this can be moved?

I've never seen GTB, but those tracks above would be the only reason I'd even consider getting them, because I've heard everything else. Does anybody have any info on these tracks?

I just want the song "Thank Him"

I'd never heard any of it until someone tried to sell an acetate of it on ebay and they played a 10 second clip of it. That's all I've ever heard....that fucking 10 second clip. I really really love that song. So I'd kill to get that boot just so I could have a complete version of "Thank Him." Maybe someone could put up an mp3 of it here, so I could "borrow" it?

Ehhh...might have to do that via pm's. Just like if I wanted (hint hint) those mp3s I mentioned, I'd have to check my pm box periodically (hint hint).

Otherwise, it'd violate the ToS.

12. New England Waltz - 'Adult/Child' outtake, recorded 1977

is pretty much everything I've yet to hear. Except, of course, those songs I've never heard *of*

Oh, and "Drip Drop"
