Hi --

I've got a new, psychedelic BB-influenced song called "Really Really Weird." Here's the video...

Hope you like it! Smiley

In case anyone's interested, there's an article on my blog about how the video was made:

...and a bump to this thread as well...!

In honor of Harry Nilsson's birthday weekend, I've decided, for this weekend only, to provide free mp3 downloads of The Simple Carnival's latest release, "Me and My Arrow." (The title track is a cover of a Harry Nilsson song.)

The "Me and My Arrow" EP contains "Really Really Weird," so if you like the video, you might enjoy the other tracks as well. It's available to anyone who signs up for The Simple Carnival's e-mail list. I send out only about one e-mail a month and don't share your e-mail address with anyone.

You can sign up here:

http://www.simplecarnival.com/

Hope this isn't too spammy, but hey, it's free! Smiley

Thanks again for the nice comments about the video, and for letting me bend your ear!

I really enjoyed the track!  Cheesy

Will the "Girls Aliens Food" CD be made available as a mp3-download only?

And about the songs on the EP, what do you mean by "slightly altered"? I don't know if I should wait for the "Girls Aliens Food" download or if I should get the EP to have this version of "Really Really Weird". What will be the difference between both versions?

Thanks for the nice words, guys... To answer SloopJohnB's questions:

Will the "Girls Aliens Food" CD be made available as a mp3-download only?

Yep, "Girls Aliens Food" will also be a mp3 download. It'll be on iTunes as well. Right now I'm taking preorders for just the CD because it's easier to handle things that way.

"Slightly altered" basically means the EP has slightly shorter ("radio-friendly") versions of the album tracks. I chopped out a few bars here and there, faded things earlier, made different transitions between songs... The "Me and My Arrow" EP has the cover of the Harry Nilsson song, which "Girls Aliens Food" does not have.

If you most want the "Girls Aliens Food" album as mp3s, you can sign up for my e-mail list (it's at the top of every page on my web site). I send out only about one e-mail a month, and I'll be sure to let you know when the album is available as a download.

Just wanted to let everyone know that there's a remix contest for this song... The grand prize winner gets one of the instruments I used on the song -- a circuit-bent Casio SK-1! Smiley

Here's the contest info:

Enjoy!

Don't know if anyone's interested, but three remixes are up:

http://www.myspace.com/reallyreallyweirdremix

Mister Fusty, Heidi Gloom, and Rob Arnold all have remixes you can check out at the above link.

Because Mister Fusty is a judge in the contest, he is not eligible to win anything. He knows this, but he went ahead and did a remix anyway. Smiley

Just thought you might want to know Girls Aliens Food is out...!   3D

It's on iTunes, CDBaby, Amazon, and www.simplecarnival.com. You can listen to nearly the entire album on CDBaby.
