Additional addition to donald's sunshine songlist:
Wooden Shjips - Shine Like Suns Sun Ra - Dancing in the Sun The Yellow Balloon - Follow the Sunshine (alternate mono mix) Mary Hopkin - How Come the Sun Ray Conniff - Seasons in the Sun Tame Impala - Sun's Coming Up Tame Impala - The Sun Sun Ra - Sun Song (of all these suggested songs it's the best one - very intriguing & beautifully arranged composition. Generally, that whole record is one of the best in Sun Ra's career) Ramones - California Sun (nice uptempo cover)

Lesley Duncan "Sunshine Send Them Away"; "Crying in the Sun" Vashti Bunyan "Hebridean Sun" The Beatmen "Now the Sun Has Gone" (check this out too; nice haunting melody w/ some key changes; 60s band from Nottingham) Louis Philippe "Lazy English Sun"; "You'll Never Catch the Sun" Unknown Artist "Summer Sunshine" (some girl singing modern bubblegum pop song; fast tempo) Bee Gees "With the Sun in My Eyes"

That said, the link below is frozen. Where else can I hear it? I mean the Boystown choon.

"Sailboat" doesn't count because there's no "sun" in title or content. "It's All Too Much" I count because it has "silver sun" - weird the line in brackets has no mention of "sun".
Speaking of Donovan:
"Sun" "The Sun Is A Very Magic Fellow" (this sounds like a kid's song/nursery rhyme)

Last week I dug up some Christmas stuff on DVD. Some very obscure, like "Christmas in Wonderland". It's about 3 kids & father moving to Canada from L.A. they went shopping to the biggest mall in Edmonton & found million bucks (fake). A bit trash but it had GREAT songs! My favorite got to be Katrina & the Waves' "Walking on Sunshine": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIoWtw6jc-INever once heard it before. Not bad for an 80s song.

A very boring story here, but...I saw Katrina & The Waves open for The Beach Boys in 1986 at the Allentown Fair in Pennsylvania. "Walking On Sunshine" was the only song I recognized, but it did rock! As a side note, The Beach Boys played "Rock & Roll To The Rescue" that night...

Not boring the least bit - *I* never went to a show! To hear an opening act outbeat your favorite band, tho - not good.

As Peter Reum mentioned Peter Lacey on more than 1 occasion, wrote reviews for his singles/albums, I youtubed the guy and was listening to songs by order. For this thread, he has a song "Drinkin' in the Sunshine". Check it out. it has actual video of Peter singing it. [talking broadly, not within this thread, my favorite Lacey tune is The Last Pierrot. Of those on YT anyway]
