That is great!  Grin

Was your first Beach Boys tattoo the one with the sun and the 'God Only Knows' notes?

Has anyone considered having a portrait of BW tattooed across their stomach?  Maybe 'Pet Sounds' era - then as you put on or shed weight, so would Brian!  So merely by dieting or bingeing you could recreate any 'version' of BW from '66 onwards.  (For late 70s you may have to 'overdub' the beard with a felt tip or similar...)

I have no tatoos but once considered the BeachBoys "coca-cola" style logo as a possibility.

I would even settle for a nice front license plate with that logo if I could find one.

Shelter, was it you that posted you didn't like Wild Honey up until two weeks ago? How impulsive. It's a great tattoo, though.

That's right, I got the idea for this tattoo about a year ago though. I just wanted an image that was Beach Boys related, but that could also stand on it's own. And by that I mean that it had to be an image that I also could've liked if I wouldn't have been a Beach Boys fan. I never would've considered something as direct as the words 'Beach Boys', or a portrait or anything like that. It had to be Beach Boys related to me and a nice, neutral image for everyone else. And this bee was just the best option to me. Of course I rather would've had something from the Pet Sounds or Sunflower sleeve, but those weren't very useful. So I settled for just anything from any Beach Boys cover. If there would've been a really cool symbol on the Summer in Paradise sleeve, well, I might even have considered that.

I've always wondered why Alan is the only one looking a different  direction on the 15 Big Ones cover.

I've always wondered why Alan is the only one looking a different  direction on the 15 Big Ones cover.

Paul McCartney and Al Jardine were in a car accident together in 1966. They both died and were replaced by lookalikes. In 1969, the 'Paul is dead' story came out in the open and people started noticing the clues in Beatles songs and on their album covers. But somehow, hardly anyone ever noticed the 'Al is dead' clues.

This is one of those clues. Al looks in a different direction because he's in another place.

 Cool

Gotta say that looks cool - I think I should get a cut of the tattoo artist's takings for the original suggestion!  Razz

Nice work my friend...

For your third tattoo, may I recommend covering your entire back with the Sunflower image of Mike Love with the combover and toga.

That is a cool tattoo. I've always wanted a Wild Honey tattoo, but I might include the flowers. I dunno. Probably on my chest or something.

Also all that SMiLE art could make for great tattoos.

What body part should a Dennis-related tattoo be on?

Yeah.  Smiley

This one is beautiful! I like sun-oriented themes, yellow & orange colors etc. However, I won't do any tattoo myself, because I heard that it's very painful. Don't think I would tolerate even 1 minute of such dealing. Anyway, I jolly liked your tattoos, shelter!

Thanks. If getting a tattoo is painful depends on where you get it. It's very painful if it's close to the bone (knees, ankles, elbows, shoulder blades, spine etc.) or on very weak skin (stomach, arm pits, back of the knees etc.) but anywhere else (arms, legs, chest etc.) it's not really that painful.
