... or what she didn't play on, but claims to play on. I know that Carol Kaye claims that she played on a lot of those classic Motown hits where in fact it was James Jamerson. But I'm not fussed with that as I know the truth there. But I was wondering what Beach Boys songs does Carol Kaye claim that she played on, though evidence suggests otherwise? I'm pretty sure Carol has claimed she played bass on "Surfin' USA" but this appears to be false. Also where possible who DID play bass on the Beach Boys songs that she claims she played on, though in fact didn't? Any help greatly appreciated Smiley

I undersand Carol Kaye recently admitted that her memory on these things is a tad unreliable, and consequently decided to appoint AGD as her official source of info on this subject?  (I think that's what happened anyway...)       Roll Eyes

Carole claimed she played the the rhythm guitar on Surfin USA, only problem is that pre-dated her first BB's session by more than a year, and a young fellow named David Marks played that part.

Carol probably didn't add much in the way of guitar to Beach Boys tracks, ever.  She started as a bass player for Brian and that's pretty much how it stayed.

She does play banjo on Cabinessence though.
