Whilst lots of bands have covered the Beach Boys, it's generally always the same songs. I was thinking of some slightly less well-known songs, and who could do good versions, and so far:

Slade (classic lineup): Do It Again - I think this could be great with the trademark screechy vocal, and maybe a bigger hit than the original!
AC-DC - Wild Honey - maybe not so different from the early 70s BB version
Air (French Band) - I Went to Sleep - would be interesting to hear the orchestration digitised
Hawkwind - Mrs O'Leary's Cow

a few more :

Morrissey - Still I Dream Of It
Billy Bragg- The Trader
Peter, Björn and John - Honkin' Down the Highway
and if they were more "honest" people, Coldplay could cover "Surf's Up" - but they would probably be scared off by the sudden realisation of their own mediocrity  Smiley

Whoops, the ones I posted were real Beach Boys covers.

Anyway, I think these would make for some good covers:
Camera Obscura-I'm Waiting For The Day
The White Stripes-You Need A Mess Of Help To Stand Alone
Styx-Melt Away
Radiohead-Until I Die
The Flaming Lips-Holidays
Belle and Sebastian-At My Window
The High Llamas-Cool Cool Water
The Moldy Peaches-Let's Put Our Hearts Together
