Has anyone head the recording of "I've Got A Friend" where Mike introduces it as one fo his favorite songs written by anyone ever?

So, I assume it was Mike who prevented the band from ever recording it, right? I mean, it just had to be Mike, right?

Was recorded - well, the track, anyway, during Dennis' 1971 solo sessions. Sadly, no vocals known to exist. The track is a snorter.

now, to stir up the hornet's nest...
why not  Taylor Hawkins ?
we know the basic words and melody

Andrew, can you translate "snorter" for me?  Does that mean it's good?  Being on the other side of the pond, I'm not familiar with the term.

Don't know why, but having both Dennis and "snorter" in the same sentence seems oddly appropriate. LOL

Yes, appropriate verbage!

"Snorter" sounds a bit negative. IGAF is one of my fave Dennis cuts. I have two versions on boot. One with a full band arrangement sounds pretty damm good.

Maybe "snorter" means a song that when you hear it you wanna just go and snort a huge mountain off a table somewhere because it's so good! I can buy that.

And yeah, Carl did get it the worst in Catch A Wave. But some of it was via unfortunate Landy quotes. At least that book wasn't sleazy like Heroes And Villians.

A variation of the phrase is "corker".

So good you start snorting like a pig--literally. How much music makes you do that?

It's a diminutive of "rip-snorter".

OK, for those with a limited lexicon - it's fucking good.
