Looks like Blondie's 1977 self titled debut album will be available for the first time in the US on April 8, 2008.  There was previously a 2002 Japan CD release which has been impossible to find since.

It's a great little 70's rock album with Blondie on guitar, vocals, bass, piano and Ricky Fataar on drums.  Love the vinyl version, hopefully the new release will include some bonus tracks...

Also highly recommended is his 2005 acoustic CD Between Us available at BigKarmaRecords.com

I bought my copy of the cd in the early 90-ies, also a Japanese pressing, so I guess the 2002 release already was a re-release.

Oh my god. All I saw from the main page was "Re: Blondie Chaplin 1977..." and even though Blondie was definitely born way earlier than 1977, whenever I see years like that it makes me think of death threads and I really thought that this was going to be about how Blondie passed away. Thank goodness it's something much happpier than that.

I like his album. It's a nice rock-record. The Flame's album is much better though, but this is also very good.
BTW, Blondie will be on the big screen soon, see OT "Rolling Stones- Shine a light"   Wink

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Dang...POB is being reissued, Blondie's is also being reissued....now all we need is for the BB's albums that aren't Pet Sounds or a greatest hits album to be available in wider circulation and I'll be happy!

The 1977 album isn't bad but doesn't stick out for me. Like Rocker says The Flame LP is much better, still it' s not a bad way to spend an hour.

I really like the more recent Between Us.  It's got a very cool groove that just moves from song to song...highly recommended.
