"Old Telephones." I wrote it two hours ago, and recorded it one hour (up until five minutes) ago. I got drunk in the process. That part was fun.

Anyway, this is a demo. Comments, criticism, etc.?

Nice, I like the 'plucking' sound in it. It seems a bit higher sung than your usual stuff and in places your voice reminds me of Pete Townsend or Neil Young - in a good way!
Nice song though, all your songs sound effortless but very well written - A great skill!

Nice song though, all your songs sound effortless ...

Another word for it might be laziness.  Grin

Thanks. The "plucking" comes from the fact that I wasn't strumming with a pick or finger-picking, but hitting the strings pretty hard with my fingernails: index and middle fingers on the downstrokes, thumbnail on the upstrokes. When I was playing it, I kept thinking of a sound Eels sometimes get, and that's how I went for it. (I also mic'd closer and hotter than I often do with an acoustic, directly over the soundhole and so close I almost hit the mic.)
