It's actually not awful.  Dopey, perhaps, but not awful.

I have the song on Ultimate Christmas. Does anyone notice how that song and "Bells Of Christmas" and "Child Of Winter" are mastered real LOUD, then "Morning Christmas" is somewhat lower? That album needs some serious remastering.

Also, notice that "Christmas Time Is Here Again" is deleted from the most recent Christmas album, what's it called - Merry Christmas From The Beach Boys? Does anyone know why?

And, why can't they seem to get "The Lord's Prayer" on the Beach Boys' Christmas albums? I got it on a Japanese import....

The versions of "Bells..." and "Melekalikimaka" on UC differ singnificantly from the original 1977 versions - not just a remix, but some re-recording too.

Lord's Prayer was a bonus track on a 90's 2-fer-era reissue of the Christmas album.

In stereo, too.  Smiley

Yes, I stand corrected. I actually have that reissue with "The Lord's Prayer" on it, in addition to a Japanese import without it. So why couldn't "The Lord's Prayer" carry over to the Ultimate Christmas collection?

I prefer Kona Coast, but enjoy this rendition too. It's better than the Kissing Santa Claus song, Santas got an airplane or the Peggy Sue remake (reeeallly bad that one is!)

I didn't like this song until I found out it was Brian singing the "Hawaii" falsetto part. Now I think it's amazing.

I like this song quite a bit, even if some of the lyrics are silly. It's catchy, fun, and makes me smile when I listen to it.  Grin

Great song, but this version sucks. As I wrote in another board: Christmas on a beach? Impossible for me!

The Beach Boys lived in the warm part of California, so it's not like it was snowing there anyway. I'd rather be on a beach in Hawaii for Christmas than a beach in California.

Yeah...white Christmases invariably have to be plowed, thus rendering them highly over-rated!

In no way do i think it is awful, it's just a very random, but pretty fun song.

Not much of a christmas song though  Grin
