On the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame website it has a list of 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll and it lists the following Beach Boys songs. Keep in mind that it is not based on how good the songs are etc.. but just songs that influenced rock and roll etc..

*California Girls
*Don’t Worry Baby
*God Only Knows
*Good Vibrations
*Surfin’ U.S.A.

Does anybody disagree with any of these and/or would add any other songs that shaped rock and roll? I'm just surprised DWB is on the list, yet a song like WIBN isn't?

I can see where they're coming from. What about I Get Around?

No, Mikey, I don't think it's just cause you're in Australia...I hear WIBN all the time on the radio here in Texas (and in TV shows, and movies), but I've only heard DWB maybe twice in the past 5 years. Although the harmony is absolutely fantastic in that song, I think I still would have chosen WIBN over DWB (although, DWB is one of my all time favorites).

Personally I would've chosen "All This Is That" and "Cabin Essence". But those aren't really well-known enough to have changed rock and roll.

5 songs, that's cool. Only Elvis, Beatles and the Stones beat them.
