A lot of my friends that have teen age children are always complaining about them. They talk back, some are using drugs and getting drunk, some daughters got pregnant. I guess we all went through our teen age rebellion where we tested our parents authority. Not all kids are like that and perhaps Brians won't be either. Brian really didn't have experience raising Wendy and Carny and he's much older now. I think his oldest daughter is about 9? I don't think I want to have teenage kids when I'm 70. I guess Melinda will have to handle it or they could send them to boarding school. I don't think Brian could handle it. I saw him in 2000 at the Pet Sounds tour in Melbourne Florida. During a song somebody blew up a beach ball and was bouncing it around the audience. I guess Brian got distracted by it and he burst out "STOP PLAYING WITH THAT BALL!" He was pissed. I can see how kids might iritate him too. But it's kind of funny hearing these guys I work with who are in their 40's all stressed out. Children are a joy = misery loves company. Any parents care to comment?

Well, first of all, I can understand why he would get angry if the audience was playing with a beach ball during Pet Sounds.. that's not really appropriate.. especially if it was during one of the sadder songs.
And Brian's always been young at heart anyway, so as long as his body holds up I wouldn't see any problem with him raising teenagers; I mean, raising kids in your 60s probably isn't a picnic either but he seems to be doing fine with it so far..

Some dork who thought only "Beach Boys........Beach Ball.............Haha this will be a blast".
Did they stop playing?
Imagine being yelled at by Brian Wilson and slowly deflating the ball hearing that pathetic sound of air gasping out in short spurts.

I saw a beach ball hit the neck of Carl Wilsons guitar while he was playing one night. It came out of his blind spot as he was concentrating on a riff, not looking up. He was startled and swung the neck around knocking the guitar back into the crowd. He looked annoyed. I was embarassed.
Parenting is hard. And it requires resillience and patience, things that are in shorter supply as one ages.
I'm guessing Melinda will have a nanny staff, private schools and tutors, and lots of programming for various activities like music, dance, and sports. Maybe the'll spend a lot of time with thier much older sisters.

He'll pull out his eye. He's a genius too, Daria!
No, he'll be a gentle, loving dad. But Melinda will keep the kids in check.

This made me think of THIS:
Man...too bad this has already been done...but as funny as the Osbournes show was, can you imagine a Wilsons show? Brian swears as much as Ozzy, albeit Brian actually speaks audibly.
I can see it now....
"Goddammit! MELINDA! Tell tham goshdarn kids to quit playing with that goshdarn ball!"

With Melinda's help I suppose Brian will do as well as anyone else with the kids when they are teenagers.
I work in a girls school, surrounded by shrieking, shouting teenage girls...drives you nuts!
I must admit when I attended a SMiLE concert with a rather large camera I feared it might put Brian off so I was discrete (as one can be in the 4th row with a huge SLR)....nah, Brian smiled at me every time I pointed it at him!

My favorite part of that whole bootleg is when one of them in the background talks in a really effiminate voice, doing the stereotypical homosexual thing just goofing around and Murray goes "HEY!". He sounds so pissed. You've got to wonder what Murray was thinking.

I don´t want to be a downer, but am I the only one who thinks that Brian will be dead when his kids will be teenagers? That was at least my first thought when I read the question.

Brian doesn't exactly have longetivity on his side, Murry died at 56, Audree at 80. He'll probably leave us around age 70.

On the other side, it was also very unlikely that he would have survived his brothers. But he did.
