Ricky Fataar on Keepin' the Summer Alive?

I was looking at the LP sleeve for Keepin' the Summer Alive, and under the list of musicians that played on the album, one of them is Ricky Fataar, which doesn't make any sense to me, because the album was recorded in the late 70s/early 1980, after Ricky left the band, with the exception of When Girls Get Together, which was recorded in 1969, before Ricky joined the band. Unless there's something I'm missing here?

well, i'm pretty sure he filled in for a lot because Dennis wasn't around for much of KSTA...I was thinkin' Dennis was only on Endless Harmony's track for percussion...as i'm not sure if the track was the same as Ten Years of Harmony (from So Tough era)...

But that doesn't make any sense! Ricky left the band in 1974. If Endless Harmony and Ten Years of Harmony have the same backing track that could be the song Ricky drummed on.

The original track for "TYOH" was just Bruce and a piano. A demo.

Ricky was on KTSA for the same reason Joe Walsh was: he's good at what he does, and he was asked. 

Dennis' main replacement was Scott Matthews.

I've always thought the drumming on the "KTSA" title track sounds like Ricky, and we know that Joe Walsh plays guitar on there, and Ricky was in Joe's "Barnstorm" band at one point, as was Bryan Garofalo, who's also on the album.

BTW, you might notice also that Ricky plays percussion with Carl on "Just Once In My Life" from "15 Big Ones", recorded Spring '76, a year-and-a-half after he left the Beach Boys. 

Likewise, Bruce lent his vocals to a few Beach Boys tracks after he left in '72.
