I watched Spaceballs for about the 1000th time last night. John Candy plays a Mog- half man, half dog. I was in tears laughing. He really was a great actor...no, seriously, he was a great actor. I wonder how much of his lines were improvised...Got me thinking as to what was his best role he ever did...Spaceballs is definitely a contender, IMO. He had to play character that was not invented until that movie. Anyways, what a funny actor.

He blew up real good for us!

I can't think of any movie of his where he wasn't good.

I especially liked him as the polka bum in Home Alone.

And as the electric drill wielding, cigar smoking, hat wearing, oil burning Mercury driver, Uncle Buck.

Dead much too soon.   Best thing to ever come from SCTV, IMO.  And I am aware of the long list of super characters that started there.
