The book "Hot Wacks" (a long out of print guide to bootlegs of hundreds of artists) has the following strange entry under 'The Beach Boys':
SMILE Brother Records ST-258D
Side 1: Good Vibrations / Barnyard / Do You Like Worms / Old Master Painter-You Are My Sunshine / Wonderful / Bicycle Rider / Can't Wait Too Long / Tones / Cabin Essence / Our Prayer
Side 2: George Fell Into His French Horn / Heroes And Villains / Vega Tables / Wind Chimes / Mrs. O'Leary's Cow / I Love To Say Da Da / Holidays / Surf's Up / Child Is Father To The Man
Also, the album is described as being a "fake Capitol promo". However, I can't find ANY other proof outside of this book that the album is real. Does anyone know?

Ummm...
Well, I'm sure that it exists in some form, as every one of those tracks have been booted. SMiLE's been booted since the dawn of time.
Not really sure what you're asking...

I'm not religious, but if my Ancient Hebrew is correct, Genesis 1:32 details the booting: God's napping after a long week's work and some sneaky bastard boots the stuff and starts selling it covertly. Not technically the beginning of time, but close enough.

It wasn't that hard of a question! I just wanted to know if anyone knew if that actual bootleg LP existed...

Well, I guess if it is printed in a guide to bootlegs, and we know all those songs were booted pretty widely, it most likely exists.

The part about it being a fake Capitol promo is a stretch though the jacket does take some Capitol logos etc. It is the first Smile boot from 1983. It's not as good a the double and triple vinyl sets from the 1990's. It's the one with the Honeydew man joke.

Just because it's in the book doesn't mean it exists... they list a fake Brother vinyl version of "California Feeling" that no one can ever seem to prove the existence of...
I'd love to get my hands on a vinyl Smile though!

Like I said it is the first 1983 Smile boot. I have the California Feeling too. These aren't easy to find but not impossible. The book is correct

Well - I have the second vinyl edition (ST-2580) and the cover clearly states this includes items 'not included on the first edition' ... so I'm guessing that the first one DID exist !

I have both, so they probably do exist.

I have them both too, so the odds that they exist are definitely improving.

There were five vinyl Smile's and I have four of them. Still want the 1985 version very badly.

I love my vinyl boots a lot. I never could find Good Time 1978 either it has a bunch of Brian productions. I think I have every other one.
