song on "America's Band" question

In the documentary 'America's Band', there is a song they are performing in 69 or so in Europe. Carl is singing lead and I believe the it has something to do with New Orleans. Mike is playing the tamborine and dancing around in his robe. Does anybody know what this song is called? Who wrote it or was it a cover song? I like the song and the performance.

The doc is called "An American Band" and the song is Buffalo Springfield's "Rock and Roll Woman" written by Stephen Stills.

"Again", their second album, is by far their best. Ironically much of it was recorded by the group members individually or in pairs (as was their third and final LP), in contrast to their first LP, which was a band recording. But the second one is the best, showing a lot of growth in their songwriting.

Agreed. I have a soft spot for "Last Time Around" too, but "Again" is the one. They were too talented to stay together. Stills, Young, geez, Dewey Martin, the drummer sang like Otis Redding, yet got one vocal in their catalogue. Something had to implode, and it did.

They toured with the BBs in Nov 67, Feb 68 and April 1968 (the Martin Luther King tour). Neil Young has stated that he got pretty close to Dennis for awhile (Dennis introduced him to Charles M- who Neil says had a lot of talent). The April 68 tour was actually the Springfields nail in the coffin- they were frustrated at the lack of big success and constantly losing money- Last gig was in early May 68.
