Just interested after seeing the good reviews and setlists for both groups this year. Please read as hypothetically you can only attend one show.

Definitely Brian and Al and Brian's band (and Taylor!).  I have no desire to go see Mike wheeze through his nose.

I am not suprised at the results thus far.

Brian and Al ! They (that is Brian) still got the best band around. I don't like many of the guys Mike and Bruce use.

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Of course I voted Brian and Al, but that doesn't necessarily mean that I'm not looking forward to Mike & Bruce later this year...they always seem to toss in something new each year for the past 4 or 5 years or so...

Brian & Al, no contest.  However, I wouldn't mind seeing them do Mike's set list...

That was the point I was trying to make on MBE's thread about Mike & Bruce's concert. Their (Mike & Bruce's and Brian & Al's) setlists overlap on a lot of songs. I guess that's a good thing if you're hoping for some kind of meeting down the road, as I am.  police

I would say Brian and Al too but Mike and Bruce's show is worth seeing if they are playing the right kind of venue ie an indoor theatre.

Wow! Brian and Al hands down. Guess it is the novelty factor of having Al on board. With the BW tour this year unlikely to get the interest of PS or SMiLE tours, the addition of Al gives that extra boost.
On the subject of setlists. Compare this Mike, Bruce (and Dave), May 98 meat and potato list to what they are playing today. I put the addition of the rarities today down to what Brian offers. Bruce and others also may have wanted to spice things up.

From Eric A's site.

SETLIST
1. Surfin Safari
2. Catch A Wave
3. Hawaii
4. Do It Again
5. Dance Dance Dance
6. Do You Wanna Dance (Bruce)
7. Surfer Girl (Matt/Chris on bridge)
8. Don't Worry Baby (Matt)
9. Little Deuce Coupe
10. 409
11. Little Old Lady From Pasadena
12. Shut Down
13. I Get Around
14. In My Room
15. Then I Kissed Her (Matt)
16. California Dreamin' (Matt/Phil alternate verses)
17. Summer In Paradise
18. Sloop John B (Chris/Mike)
19. Wouldn't It Be Nice (Matt)
20. Good Vibrations (Matt)
21. Kokomo (Mike/Matt)
22. Help Me Rhonda (Matt)
23. Back In The USSR (Chris/Mike)
23. Surf City
24. Surfin' USA

ENCORE
