I've always enjoyed this one.  It's orchestral, but done in a bop style.  Pretty good stuff.  This album doesn't get glowing reviews, but I think it's a pretty solid work.

I won that in a fake gameshow type experience.

Haven't listened to it yet.

Just like Gold! Yeay! Another Aztec Camera fan! I also have all the postcard singles - what a great songwriter Roddy was. Is 'We Could Send Letters' the best song ever written by a 16 year old? One of my favourite songs anyway. Love the first album, and all the rest have some good stuff on - have to dig them out again! Thanks for reminding me!

That first Aztec Camera album is pure bliss from start to finish, one of the tippy-top of the eighties. I started getting into it again about a month ago. Tip of the hat for the Cocteaus, too, Nick. I suspect this will be the first and only time I ever hear anyone describe the process of moving in a postive light. Wink Best wishes to ya in the new environs!

Good to see fans of Aztec Camera.  I only just heard "Just Like Gold" and I can't believe it's not avail anywhere else but the single.  Actually, High Land, Hard Rain was the first album I ever heard, except for a couple of weeks I thought it was Husker Du!  Reason being, it was on a label-less homemade tape that a "friend" sold me for $5 with Warehouse Songs & Stories on the other side.  The thunderstorm sound effects on Standing In The Rain led me to believe that it was the "Hard Rain" LP and not until later did I catch the chorus on the AC side and realize my mistake.  I don't think that made sense very much...

And as for moving in a positive light--if I told you that we are being forced to move by developers turning our apartment into a condo would that satisfy ya??   Grin  Still it was nice to just listen to music all day; sadly a rare occasion for me nowadays.
