On this site (http://pages.cthome.net/tobelman/page05.htm), I found this picture:

Does anyone know if this was used as a cover for a Beach Boys disc? A compilation, or maybe a bootleg? Thanks!  Smiley

to promote the pet sounds box set that was due at that time. the box set got delayed yet again but sub pop & cmj went ahead and released their stuff. around this time a "few" copies of the box set were also sent out by capitol and those were traded by collectors long before the box set was officially released.
here is a copy of a story about this from esq issue for june-july 1996. couple of sub pop items and about the box set being delayed.
