Hi all...a couple of significant developments about the LONG PROMISED ROAD: SONGS OF DENNIS AND CARL WILSON LIVE album by Adam Marsland's Chaos Band/Alan Boyd that I wanted to pass on.
One is that we have put up three mp3s from the album, plus one internet-only bonus mp3 ("Baby Blue") at a separate myspace page:
www.myspace.com/denniscarltour. We also have posted all of our live videos including one just posted of the band performing "Moonshine" in Bloomington, Indiana. So you can hear, in one form or another, about half the album there. We'll be making this page the clearing house for activity on the album.
Part of the reason for the separate myspace page is we're about to start rotating 50 (count 'em!) original mp3s in the next 3 months at our original myspace page (
www.myspace.com/adammarsland, and first on the list will be another preview from LONG PROMISED ROAD (Alan also has one on his page:
www.myspace.com/alanboydmusic). Also, we wanted to give people more of a sample of the album. We have ordering buttons at both myspace pages.
NEWS ABOUT CD AVAILABILITY
We received our initial order from our retail distributor and it's quite large. What this means is that once we've dealt with them and our other subdistributors, we will only have about 200 CDs left over to sell directly. Obviously people can still pick them up through amazon and Borders and places like that, but it will take longer, it might require aspecial order it if the local store doesn't have it, and last but not least, we make less money.
We're trying to think of ways to encourage people to order CDs from us while we have them, sooner rather than later, to make sure everyone gets a copy. I'd welcome suggestions about how we can add incentives for this and how to spread the word more effectively about the album, since I'd hate to have someone find out about the album four months from now and have trouble getting it.
