Now about Coffy?  That's a goodie, as well. Great choices. Don't forget Trouble Man.

Quincy Jones - Dollars
Curtis Mayfield - Let's Do It Again
Miles Davis - L'Ascenseur Pour L'Echafaud ( I guess I should mention this, it's a famous soundtrack, I don't think it's that great, but probably works great with the film, maybe someone can explain it to me)

My favourite film score composer is Thomas Newman... Who did the scores for films such as The Shawshank Redemption, The Horse Whisperer, The Green Mile, American Beauty, Road to Perdition...

His music really touches me, there was a time when I listened to nothing but his scores.

I also really like the score by James Newton Howard for Snow Falling on Cedars, some of Michael Nymans works (The Piano mainly), aswell as some of Hans Zimmers - The Thin Red Line, Black Hawk Down...

Nice thread. Smiley

Yes  MI, The Piano is a stunning soundtrack. Some friends went to see Michael Nyman play live recently.

GREAT BALLS OF FIRE

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

All of Wes Anderson's movies' soundtracks.

Songs From Muerto County, a soundtrack to Texas Chainsaw Massacre that Puerto Muerto just recorded and released this year.

200 Motels and Uncle Meat, by Frank Zappa.

Paris Texas.

Perfection.

Blade Runner.

Damn cool back in the 80's - particularly as you couldn't buy it...

Oh yeah, if plays count, I want to throw in Tom Waits' Black Rider, Alice and Blood Money.
