Johnny Cash performing Reznor's 'Hurt"

I think this video is simply... Profound.
Cash seems vulnerable. infirm, introspective and STEELY - all at the same time.
If you haven't seen it here it is:

Probably nearly impossible to watch without at least a hint of extra moiture in your eyes.

Greatest video of all time, IMO. MTV should have given it the video of the year award, but they chickened out and gave it to Missy Elliott instead. Cash was dead a week later. Good one, MTV.

I thought they gave it to Justin Timberlake. I remember that he was embarresed and apologized for "stealing" this award from Cash. He really won my respect with that.

That video is a piece of art !
BTW Brian Wilson makes a guest appearance in the new Cash-video

He is joined by an allstar-lineup, including Lisa Marie Presley, Kris Kristofferson, Kid Rock, Iggy Pop a.m.o.

I had no idea Brian was in that video! How did that slip under the radar?
It's interesting because I can't think of one connection that Brian has to Johnny Cash. As a matter of fact, didn't Brian say in an interview that he didn't care for Johnny's voice?

I read in a Cash-book that he and Brian were inducted into the Songwriter Hall of Fame at the same day (or ceremony).
Brian said on Charlie Rose that he didn't like Cash's voice very much.

Says one of the youtube commenters: "Did anybody realize that all the celebs in this video are strong believers in God?"
I didn't pick up on that myself, but that would explain why said celebrities are in that video, if the person who asked that question is correct.
