I'm wondering what the need for the block of links at the bottom of pages is. IMO, it makes each page very messy and when you link to any of them you are taken to an even more messy and confusing page.  Please help me out with the point or usefullness of this new system.  Thanks.

I added a poll, as I'm interested in seeing what people think of it.

To me the links at the bottom of the page taking up considerable real estate, feeling crowded, not well differentiated from one another and more un-necessary than helpful since all seem to be available already on the site in their well defined and identified categories.

The page they link to is a gaggle of ads in the first screen presented, followed by a screen/gaggle of buttons before the content you were linking to which is suddenly in a bloggy format without much definition between topics which trails out next to a sidebar of links that keeps going.

Don't mind me but it just seems to detract from and diminish the excellent and easily navigatible format that was already in place.  Less is more says I.

Thanks for your service mods.

I agree with you Cam. Luckily Im running NoScript in firefox which blocks the links so they dont bother me...but when I use anohter browser I can see how annoying they can get.

I just wish we could get rid of the advertisements in between posts as well, they're really annoying... Angry

While we're voting to get rid of stuff, let's get rid of the cumbersome and ugly black theme on this message board.  It's really a pain to look at.

Any opinions on any other site, including the Smiley Smile Dot Net site, are always welcome, of course.

I myself prefered the old layout of smileysmile.net, the new one isn't a patch on it. The articles are harder to find.

As for the message board, I like it. May be a different colour or something? Without trying new colours / layout I've nothing to compare it to!

I am referring to the message board and the pages the links at the bottom of message board pages link to only.  I didn't mean it as a comment on the whole Smiley Smile Dot Net website.

I'm assuming the "gaggle of ads" you are referring to is the Smiley Smile web site.  If it isn't, then I have no idea what we are talking about.  If it is, what would be really helpful are links to web sites you like.

Again, thanks to all for your thoughts.   The links are at the very bottom of the message board, and very easy to ignore, but obviously, they are not there to be ignored, and so far are serving their purpose.

I have thought of an alternative, however, that I think will be less dis-satisfactory to some here, but will drive Joe and Billy absolutely bonkers.  I'll work on it later.

Wow, that was a rousing response.   Shocked

Let's try this:  Anyone who is confounded, confused, or abused by the Smiley Smile web site (Cam!), go here:

http://skins.b2evolution.net/

And suggest a different look.
