Iggy, Danny, & Brian wrote what?

So the interview with Danny Hutton in IJWMFTT where mr. hutton describes when they were gonna go write something, when was this? how long was brian obsessed with the shortenin' bread riff? I love the part on BB An American Family where he just keeps playin it to Hal, Carol, and Chuck over & over, but heard historically that it wasnt that tune at all, what was it?

The Iggy/Alice story could have been anywhere from 70-72.
Brian's been obsessed with the Bread for about 30 years.

From memory, I think that was Ding Dang - written with Roger McGuinn, when Brian was on speed hiding from Landy.  When Roger got up in the morning, Brian was still playing the riff from this very short song.

Ding Dang was actually recorded in 1973, before Landy.

There's also "Rollin up to heaven", the early version of what would become "Ding Dang", and I think it was recorded around '71. Someone else may have better info....

I'm talking about the bit in American Family.  I thought that's what the part in the film was referring to.  Accuracy not too big when talking about that film!
