Welcome back from what appears to have been a one day suspension by my web host.  The site and board were locked down by them due to people registering with phony email addresses.  Previously, the board was set up to make new members click on a link in an email to register.  When that allowed someone to register and spam a majority of the people here, it was changed so that a moderator had to personally approve a new member.  Unfortunately, that allowed 2 people in a row create memberships with phony email addresses, which caused the "welcome" emails to bounce.

I'm going to contact my web host by phone tomorrow to see if I can reach a flesh and blood person, to resolve the AUP violations they keep complaining about.  In the meantime, until Joe, Billy and I can work out the best way to resolve the problems we are seeing with new memberships, there will be no new memberships.

I apologize for the downtime and the spam, and I thank you for your contributions and patience.

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Spammers, phony email-addresses, tough webhosts.....I guess being a moderator sometimes is an ungrateful job...

I'm glad the board is still alive & kicking, despite all the troubles that have occured.

Thanks, Charles (and Joe- and Billy of course!!) for doing your upmost best to keep this place as save and friendly as possible.

 Thumbs Up

Rule of thumb, think BEFORE you post. And THINK how it may affect someone else's feelings.

Check out the Beach Boys Starline website, the place for pictures of many countries Beach Boys releases on 45.

Listening to you I get the music; Gazing at you I get the heat; Following you I climb the mountain; I get excitement at your feet
Right behind you I see the millions; On you I see the glory; From you I get opinions; From you I get the story
