I don't know if anyone has heard a new interview with David Marks on a podcast called Discograffiti but supposedly it's very revealing, including (which I can't confirm because I haven't listened to it yet) that David Marks is embarrassed by his work with the band and their music.  If that's true, I find that really disappointing because I thought he had started to appreciate his role in the band in the 1990s and 2000s, and especially during/after the reunion tour.

Read about it on the EH board and not really sure I want to hear it tbh. It certainly appears that when this was done (last summer) Dave was not in a fit state to be interviewed. Hope he’s doing ok now and seeking some support if he needs it.

I'm really conflicted listening to this. It's a shame this has been released.

I've listened to both parts of the interview.  It's not as as awful as I expected, but David definitely sounds like he's a bad place in his life.  He admits to drinking again, and he sounds like he's alone.

In fact, David’s divorced now. His ex-wife filed for divorce 4 years ago.
I found 2 petitions: divorce and name change.

Appreciate your deep dive uncovering the fact that David and Carrie are now divorced, Alan. Carrie was David's right arm. Been following this thread closely. David achieved so much goodwill during the Beach Boys reunion. What an unfortunate fall from grace. Maybe this so-called interview will prompt those who can actually do something positive for David to step up to the plate. I root and pray that recovery is around the corner for him.

I was afraid it was something like that. Sad to hear. I pray that both David and Carrie can find positive ways to go forward in tough times.

I listened to most of it, and yes it is kind of sad. David sounds a bit out of it at times, sometimes attacking Love, other times defending him. Seems a bit irrational, so it does make one wonder about his state of mind and health. Sad.

Just the same with the Carnie interview, I wish I had never heard this. My impression of Dave before was realistic, but positive. This was the most depressing and repulsive Beach Boys related interview I've ever heard.

That said...

While I was annoyed at the host's endless self promotion, I was intrigued with his handling of Dave. I'm glad he defended himself and threw it right back. He's a decent interviewer. (You just feel like you need to shower when it's done.)

Whoa... despite some interesting tidbits and anecdotes, David Marks does possibly the saddest, most disturbing, train-wreck Beach Boys interview I've ever heard.
Sad that it sounds like he's spending his waning days and nights drunk, high and alone.  Tragic, really.

Thirty plus years ago, I read an interview with Milton Love in which he commented that Al Jardine was the only member of the Beach Boys who had really survived being a member of the Beach Boys.

Alcoholism is such a monster and, sharing the sentiments with others here, I pray that David finds help and some peace. I started listening to this interview but couldn't get through the intro because it was so depressing...this is just exploitation of someone who is clearly fighting a terrible disease. I appreciate that the interviewer is tackling such a large Beach Boys project and I wish him well with his other interviews, but this interview should've been cut short and deleted.

Just makes me sad that so many of The Beach Boys had/have so many demons they are dealing with.
