Posted to Brian's facebook page an hour ago https://www.facebook.com/officialbrianwilson

What's all this then? A box set of every Shortnin' Bread derived BW tune? The full recording of the time he played it for 3 hours to the Hollywood Vampires until Alice Cooper had to duck out? Hopefully!

A quick Google search shows a password-protected link to Brian's site where the text indicates we're looking at merch, and a page where we can "learn more" about the song.

So a decent guess would be that we'd see that logo on t-shirts and mugs, etc.

If they put THIS on merch, I'll buy it:

This appears to be a Brian thing,  not a Beach Boys thing.

Also,  I dig "Ding Dang" but I don't think that would be the lead track to push a boxed set of BB material.

Could it be Brian demos in higher fidelity, and including the immortal Lazy Lizzie?

Yeah it looks like it's literally just merch. Looking at the comments on social platoforms, the fans are dissapointed - but it's self inflicted I guess! The Love You boxset still isn't due for a few more years...

I wouldn't count on "Lazy Lizzie" ever getting an official release. I don't think the motives of the song are actually nefarious, but the optics on that one are probably worse than even "Hey Little Tomboy", "Roller Skating Child", etc. Luckily, that one now makes the rounds in pristine quality already thanks to those "Brother Rarities Bonus Tracks" that were unearthed.

The '76 Brian demo reel on the other hand is primo stuff and needs a release ASAP. Brian "released" several of them in pristine quality on his website (and the whole reel already circulated in pretty good quality).

I'll be really disappointed if tomorrow is literally just a merchandise release with that Brian logo on it.

You’re going to be disappointed then I’m afraid.

If Mike wears that cap once, I’ll buy one. Otherwise it’s a pass.

I've seen elsewhere some people pointing out the four '76 piano demos that are on that splash page for this "Ding Dang" thing.

Those four tracks are just pulled from another part of the Brian site that has been up for a few years.

For those unaware, a few years ago they re-launched Brian's website and put a bunch of rare tracks on each section of the "Timeline" pages. If you go to 70s for instance, you'll see the four "Love You" demos from the "Ding Dang" page as well as a fifth, "Little Children" (aka "They're Marching Along").

There are around 27 tracks spread across those timeline pages, most of which are either totally otherwise uncirculated, or a significant upgrade in sound quality.

Imho, those 27 tracks are GOLD.
They would make a stellar double album, which could even be split into a Rock and Roll album and a "quietly quirky" album.
Uncommercial? Yes, in the sense that everything avant-garde is uncommercial. There is no other music in the world really similar to those 27 tracks.
Anyway, it's a pity that they just sit in Brian's site. Just sell them to us, folks, in any format! But, as McGrath would put it: DO IT! DO IT! Smiley

Anywhere to find all of those pristine website tracks for download? I have most but not all.
