Hi there. I've linked this thread at the Endless Harmony forum, as Smiley is so thinly populated these days.

I'm also planning to link all individual album reviews at the Beach Boys Today forum, as they arrive.

I like the idea of uncomplicated essays on each album for those just starting down the Beach Boys trail. Keep up the good work!

Can you send me a link to said forum so I can add them myself. I would like to have the widest audience possible and am indeed having difficulty with this forum as well.

Great stuff!

The very tiniest of nitpicks, but Brian's Something Great from '68 tour was in 2019, not 2018. (Ended just a few months before covid shut everything down.)

Saw that tour at the Beacon in NY. One of the best shows I've ever seen. Brian and the band were in great form, doing basically a dream setlist for me. But the Zombies! I was there for Brian and hadn't given much thought to the Zombies part of it, and my partner and I were blown away. They did Odyssey and Oracle and we just kept looking at each other like "are you hearing this sh*t?" They just sounded so damn good. The whole night was magic. A few months later the world shut down and it was never really like that again with Brian and the band... nor was anything in my life ever really the same.

Sorry for the tangent. I really enjoyed the Friends review Smiley

Sorry to hear that, BJL. COVID has a lot to answer for.

I discovered O&O in recent decades and was similarly blown away. There's something about that album that is so special... Shamefully, it got almost no publicity in the UK at the time -- I've never understood that. "Time Of The Season" was a huge hit in the US but went nowhere in the UK. Very strange...
