I heard a short interview with Brian between songs on Sirius XM today.  He talks about writing "The Warmth of the Sun" in his "Brian Wilson Productions" office on Sunset and Vine.  I recall Mike saying the song was written in Brian's new apartment, just as he was moving into the place.  I've never heard of Brian having an actual office... was it just a room and a piano?  Any info is welcome.

The James Murphy book "Becoming the Beach Boys" mentions Brian having an actual office in the 1963-64 period. The office was at 6290 West Sunset Blvd, Hollywood.

The building was called the "Sunset Vine Tower," and was apparently brand-new in 1963 when Brian leased his office.

Interesting, the Beach Boys' star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is located outside the bank that's right across the street from the Sunset-Vine Tower.

Just google earthed the address.  Looks like the building is still there!

Yes, and Wallich's Music City, at the time the largest record store in the US, dubbed "the record store of the stars," was located diagonally across the street from Brian's office. Wallich's at the NW corner of Sunset and Vine, Brian's office at the SE corner, and the BBs star at the NE corner of that well-known intersection. Wallich's Music City closed in 1978, a couple of years before the Beach Boys received their star.
