Among others, B. J. cut his own version of "Don't worry Baby" with a couple of changed lyrics. Here's a beautiful (and I mean beautiful) live performance. Listen:

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Yep Sad News - The big hit of course being that great earworm song 'Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head'

I've watched that clip a few times over the last couple of years, and yes super version  - Rather great vibes from just 2 people (some great guitar playing)
I've got his single of DWB in my collection (being a damn completeist)

I kept hearing that he had laryngytis when he recorded Raindrops, which sounded like an urban myth to me, until I looked up the movie version a few days ago. Yep, you can hear it there; he still sounded great, but they obviously re-recorded the song for the record.
I always think of B.J. as a white soul singer; there was soul in his voice, and he could sing nearly any type of song.
RIP B.J, you were one of the greats.
