Christmas With The Beach Boys Spotify Release

Just noticed 6 songs released on Nov 20 on Spotify and the only release (so far) for 2020. All from 1991 remasters so nothing new, but just wondering why? Are they required to have some form of release each year?

Short playlists disguised as new releases are becoming a thing now. Who knows why. Check out the beatles and Paul McCartney on spotify, too.

Presumably its just so you show up on things like the new releases page. I assume a lot of the suggestion algorithms, search results etc also put a bit more weight on newer releases. So just a way to generate some more listens on the cheap
