Original drummer for Carl Perkins and after that Johnny Cash's drummer, W. S. Holland died.

Carl mentioned him in one of his songs by name.

Needles to say, I loved his style of drumming.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Damn shame. What a track record though -- ye gods. This has to be him on Carl Perkins' "Matchbox". Just love that snare pattern at the start of the solo! Rest in peace, sir.

Thank you for mentioning that song; that was on Carl's last album. Great record, i play it often.
Why did everyone have to get old and die? Almost all of my heroes are gone now. The few that remain, well i know their time isn't long on this earth.

Yes, one of my favorites. Ain't nothing better than Carl and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers rocking out to "Restless" and "One more shot". Pure Rock'n'Roll. I wish Carl would've had his "American recordings".

He certainly deserved that kind of comeback. Yeah, Carl or Cash with the Heartbreakers was magic.
