Oh I just LOVE it! It's been so beautiful actually hearing Brian playing the piano this year...one of the good things to come of COVID-19 I suppose! That being said, has anyone noticed that he plays almost all of his accompaniment an octave higher than "normal"? His "bass notes" are all around middle C, and his RH chords are all on the top of the treble staff. I noticed this on the Colbert videos as well.

Fantastic! Oh man it's great to see him with a smile on his face behind that piano. I hope he's doing well these days.

God must’ve smiled the day Brian Wilson was born!

Something that may seem very minute and inconsequential that floors me every time I hear it: The way Brian stretches the last two syllable phrase "to you" into "to-oo- oo-you"...THAT is one of the fastballs Brian tends to throw at will, and if you go back on all the original classic Beach Boys tunes, it's that very subtle yet style-defining turn of a phrase that this guy did and still does that makes his music special. It's the *sound* of something like that which resonates, and most listeners hear it without even thinking about it. But that's some of the magic, right there.
I hereby reinstate my call from the "late night" thread to get Brian in the studio, solo with a piano and mic only, and start recording. This is some special stuff that would resonate with a lot of listeners.

At the end he sounded close to his young self ...wow that was amazing.
I’m in total agreement with those above (and I’ve been saying this for years)...just need Brian and a piano

I loved this. Brian's been looking kind of frail but not in a way that is concerning at all. He's just getting older. It's always a joy to hear him sing and I'm grateful he's still here and willing to share.

From what we can tell in these clips, his spirits seem good. And his musical gifts are intact. I last saw him in person at David Leaf's UCLA event last October. He does appear to have lost weight since then. Prayers for his good health.

Brian sings a couple of line of "Hey Jude", acapella.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.
