NEW SONG BY BRIAN?

Don't remember this being discussed at all (a search came up empty), but apologies if it has.  Has anyone heard any info on the new song that was recorded specifically for the new "Long Promised Road" doc, titled "Right Where I Belong"?

Mods, if this should be merged into the existing Long Promised Road thread by all means do it, just wanted this to stand out and maybe generate some good conversations...

Hilarious that Linda Perry is used in the doc as a talking head.

Regardless though, happy to see that maybe there's a new Brian written song on its way. Though the title once again sounds like it might be one of Carl's that we already know.

Well, it'll be a little strange if Brian chose to remake Carl's "Where I Belong" from BB85 for a documentary about himself but then again the whole doc is named for one of Carl's other songs, so maybe...

That's true, but Carl's lyric in the '85 song is also "right where i belong."

I will say, I really dig Carl's "Where I Belong." And while I definitely would be interested in Brian doing a version of it, I hope it's a BW original.

Also, I think if you took the '80s out of the song, I'm not sure it would stand up as wonderfully. That song, along with "It's Gettin' Late" are two Beach Boys songs that benefit from being recorded in the mid '80s.

You may be right. I have an arrangement in my head of it done as a post punk ballad in the style of Falling in Reverse, but that wouldn’t work for Brian
