String section on "The Surfer Moon"

"The Surfer Moon" was a relaxing song. I'm just wondering who played the beautiful string part in this? I've noticed that Hal Blaine played the drums (from Wiki), so is it possible to be other members of the Wrecking Crew?
PS: When and how did the Beach Boys and the Wrecking Crew know each other? Which member did they know first, Hal Blaine?

It would seem that Brian's first interaction with members of the so-called "Wrecking Crew" was at the March 5, 1963 session for The Honeys' single "Shoot The Curl"/"Surfin' Down The Swanee River", for which Brian's co-producer Nik Venet brought in a handful of sessionmen: guitarist Billy Strange, pianist Leon Russell, bassist David Gates, and drummer Hal Blaine. Fifteen days later, Brian helped Jan and Dean record "Surf City", for which producer Jan Berry utilized Bill Pitman, Glen Campbell and Billy Strange on guitars, Ray Pohlman on bass, both Hal Blaine and Earl Palmer on drums, and probably Leon Russell on piano.
The instrumental track for "Surfer Moon" (a new recording of a song Brian had originally produced - with instrumental support from Carl, David, and Dennis - for the duo of Bob and Sheri, recut as "Summer Moon" on May 9 and intended for the duo of Bob and Vickie, before being incorporated as a Beach Boys album track under the original title "Surfer Moon") features Hal on drums, Ray on bass, Bob Norberg on guitar, and likely the Sid Sharp Strings (Brian would utilize them for most of his string sessions thereafter). According to Dave Nowlen, Bob Norberg came up with the string parts for "Summer Moon"/"Surfer Moon", which were then transcribed by Jan Berry.

Brian likely met a lot of the studio musicians before he actually used them, from sessions around town.
I also tend to exclude the Sid Sharpe Strings from the sort of "Wrecking Crew" phylum, because it seems ridiculous in some ways to include a pretty big at-large group of established classical string players in with your Leons Russell and your Larries Knechtel and your Hals Blaine. But the whole classification has been problematic from the get go, semantically, so what are you gonna do?

So are Carl, Dennis, and David Marks still on the final BB version, or is it just session musicians? If so, is this the first BB song that Carl isn't on (I thought it would have been WDFFIL)

No, just on the Bob and Sheri version.
