It's hard to find detailed information about Maureen Love, Mike's sister.

What I knew about her:
A harpist (great harp playing on 'Catch a Wave' and ‘In My Room’)
Member of Pink Martini
A photographer (I remembered)

What I want to know:
When was she born? Is she Mike's elder sister or younger sister?
How was she invited to the Surfer Girl sessions?
Did she play harps on albums from other rock musicians?
Her comments on Beach Boys music?
...

Thank you for replying.

She's younger.  Maybe a year younger than cousin Brian.  There are some quotes from her in Peter Carlin's book Catch A Wave.

She, Mike and Brian were in the same age range and were friendly in their youth.  Totally unsurprising that Brian would utilize her skills as a harpist on some of the records.  From very early on in 1963, Brian in the studio was moving beyond the basic guitar/bass/drums combo.  Maureen played the harp. She was family.  Why not?

She also played harp on "Everybody's In Love With You". And, apparently, the 1963 Survivors outtakes "Wich Stand" and "Girlie" - she's listed on the AFM contract for that session. The third title from that session, "Hot Harp", implies a Maureen spotlight piece (and possible self-composition).

Was Maureen the first female musician to play on a BBs session?
Audree sang on earlier non BBs demos, but I think Maureen's harp predates Carol's bass.

Well, Carol Kaye played guitar on the BW-Bob Norberg version of "Back Home", cut June 14. That predates Maureen's harp performance on "Catch A Wave" by exactly one month ("In My Room" was tracked two days later), although technically it's not a "Beach Boys" session.

Very interesting. Is Maureen the only sibling of a BBs band member to play on any material by this band?

Mike has many siblings, but not sure any of them ever made any other cameos on any song.
And I can't think of any cameos by siblings of any of the other members either.

No-one's mentioned her solo album.

I'll have to dig it up and give some detail.

I had no idea this existed.

Is this song "Add Some Love To Your Day" a cover of "Add Some Music To Your Day"?

And if so, does this mean that she is the forerunner in the Love family of making Love name puns in song titles?

Well, Brian, Carl, and Dennis each had two siblings that played and sang on a bunch of the records.  Wink LOL

Sitting in the sunshine having a meal at a place called Uncle Bills Pancake House Manhattan Beach 3-4 years ago. Got talking to a couple from up state California. I made a comment “this is what the Beach Boys sang about”. They said funny enough they had given one of the groups sister a lift not 3 days earlier. Maureen Love. Small world really isn’t it.

It's fine. Anyhoo, Maureen is great lady, pretty & talented musician. I'd like to hear what she's up to right now. Does she play in house & share beauty with fans?

Yes, and this photo of Brian and Maureen meeting at Brian's show in Portland was posted to Brian's social media weeks before Mike's autobio co-writer Jim Hirsch said in an interview that Maureen and the Love brothers Stan & Steve were "estranged from Brian. They cannot get to him." http://smileysmile.net/board/index.php/topic,24512.msg593448.html#msg593448

Obviously that wasn't the case...

Yeah... or like in 2006 when Brian watched a game of Stan's son with him:

The Portland mention reminds me that the couple were actually from Oregon, not Northern California.
