I attended a presentation on the history of East Coast beach music today (soul and r'n'b music played at Southeastern beaches, especially in the '60s and '70s) and discovered that Al Jardine and Steve Miller's version of "Help Me Rhonda" has charted this week at no. 8 on John Hook's Beach Music Top 40 (and has been on the chart for 31 weeks). Yes, it's an online niche market, but still pretty cool.
