...At the Stones gig in Twickenham. Only the second BB i've ever seen (after Brian) and it was good to see him though the sound wasn't great so I couldn't hear his voice too much. He also played a bit of backup guitar (at the same time Mick was on guitar - so there were 4 people playing guitar at the same time! and to be honest I couldn't hear any of it).
Anyway thats it really.

Did they play Dennis' "River Song" over the PA before the concert like they sometimes do?
Judging by your comments, even if they had, you may not have heard it!

In the past year I was fortunate enough to see both Blondie (with the Stones) and Ricky (with Bonnie Raitt).  I'll be seeing the Stones again on October 1st.  This time from the 15th row!

IMO Blondie's talent is too big for playing in the background. In the BBs he was at least part of the front-stage.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I didn't hear River Song but I could make out 'Upside down' by Diana Ross and a Franz Ferdinand song.

Well, there was a CD out some years ago, where the Stones compile all their favorite songs and the only song which wasn't something from the early days of blues (like Robert Johnson and all those great guys) was "I just wasn't made for these times".

I guess "River song"  has something to do with Blondie but who knows...

Blondie did part of the lead-vocal on The River Song ("I Was Born Into The City life...") when it was played live a few times in 1973

Whoa... for a minute there I thought you meant they did a cover version of "I Just Wasn't Made For These Times".  Now THAT would be something to hear...

I know that many Stones fans find Blondie nonrelevant.
