Don't know if any photos were taken but IIRC they did appear together onstage singing "Auld Lang Syne" during "New Year's Rockin' Eve" in late November 1974. Video footage exists, apparently.
Why yes it does exist...and here it is!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3ByPro4JaoVarious archivists, video techs, and yes...pack rats, have been finding a lot of super-rare open reel video treasures in recent years, most of it not even thought to exist let alone be made available...keep your fingers crossed for more of these once-thought-lost finds to show up out of nowhere in some stash of open-reel video tape.
Like the previous year's New Years Rockin Eve 1974 program and ball drop at midnight, the second one ever and the last one shown on NBC...hosted by George Carlin, with Tower Of Power and Linda Ronstadt among others. It turned up on one of these tape collections no one knew existed except those who originally recorded the programs in the early 70's. Amazing.
Further Beach Boys connection, sort of...The first Rockin New Years (72 into 73) was "hosted" by Three Dog Night.
