Just heard about Reggie Young passing but I can't find anything online. Does anyone have more info?

Unfortunately and sadly, it is true. Reggie has passed away at age 82:

I say this a lot, I know, but man he was an influence on me too. *Loved* the way he played guitar. Elvis, of course...but listen to how Reggie created those guitar hooks on "Drift Away" and "I Can Help"...

Well, sad to see it confirmed. Reggie was great and I believe played on more hit-records than anybody else or something like that. In fact, first I heard of him was not as part of the 827 Thomas Street Band (Memphis Boys) but as part of the backing band for the Highwaymen - which more or less was the Thomas St. band. It's incredible to realize that after Chips Moman left Memphis, he got his band to Nashville and made hits well into the late 80s/early 90s. Reggie is on all those recordings.

From the Session Men documentary, here's the part of the 827 Thomas Street band:

Also, if you don't own it, I advice you to go to youtube and look for tracks from "Bill Black's Combo plays tunes by Chuck Berry". Some mighty fine guitar work by Reggie Young on that album.

For some odd reason, I thought that this would be a mistitled thread about Pegi Young, Neil Young's ex wife. She died i think only a few days ago from cancer.
