To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

This sounds absolutely amazing. Jason Fine has an incredible rapport with Brian and has brought about some of the best BW interviews around. I cannot wait for this documentary!

I think this is the one they were filming for on UK tour last year. The intention of Brent Wilson, if fulfilled , is to give us the sense of being in Brian's company ---  which sounds to me , at least, a parallel approach to Brian's autobiography. Cannot wait !!!

Sounds as though it's as brilliant a concept/project as one could hope for. Stoked.

Quote
“So we rented a car and we rigged it up, kind of ‘Carpool Karaoke’ style, with 4K cameras and microphones in the car, so that they didn’t have to wear a lavalier mic and didn’t have operators in the car,” Wilson says. “Jason and Brian would just drive around for six, seven, eight hours a day, for weeks, trying to get Brian to open up and talk freely. And it worked brilliantly, because I’ve never seen Brian in any interview or any documentary where he’s been this honest — I mean, just brutally honest sometimes.”

I can't wait for this! Thanks for the articles!

The article indicates there is coverage of Wilson doing covers in the studio -- I wonder if this could turn into a new release, specifically the long-spoken Rock 'n Roll album. Regardless, I'm very excited.

I hope they snagged Al (and Blondie) for some interviews. The story of Al and Brian reconnecting (after a sort of false start back in 2006/07) is an important one when it comes to Brian's last 20 years.

Remembering Brian driving around Hawthorne in the IJWMFTT doco gives me hope. The concept is so simple why didn’t someone think about it earlier?

If Jean Sievers and Jason Fine are part of this, it will be great. I'm sorry I don't know Brent Wilson's work, but if they and Brian like him, I like him.

I believe that's the idea, yes. If you'll recall, all the band guys were posting pictures of their time in the studio a couple of months ago.
